Due to the escalating situation with the UK Covid-19 pandemic, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead and South Tyneside Local Authorities have all now made the decision to suspend choice based lettings. We will review this decision on the 14th April and this webpage will be updated accordingly.
We know this may be disruptive for our customers and our advice lines remain open if you have any queries. Local Authorities will continue to prioritise cases and directs lets for those in urgent need.
New applicants can still register housing applications but there may be a delay in processing these applications.
Local Authorities are taking telephone only enquiries at their customer service numbers from applicants in urgent need, such as homeless situations. Applicants with general enquiries are advised to regularly check social media or the Local Authorities website for any updates about changes in service.
Please see below for the latest information from each of the Local Authorities websites.
